There is a new COVID-19 testing option now available from Sonora Quest. It is an antibody test, meaning it tests your blood to determine if you have had COVID-19 in the past, not if you have a current infection. This test is intended for those that may have had an exposure to COVID-19, but have been symptom free for at least 10 days.
Sonora Quest requires an order from your doctor for this test. Kachina patients that have been seen in the last 18 months can contact us for a doctor’s order without an appointment, by sending a message via the patient portal. Please select the recipient “PROVIDER ASSISTANT” from the first dropdown. If you do not have portal access, please call the office and leave a message for your provider. For patients that have not been seen in over 18 months, please call our office at 480-706-4100 to schedule an appointment.
Once you have a doctor’s order, you will need to schedule an appointment with Sonora Quest. Keep in mind it will take 24-48 hours after we send the order for it to appear in their system. They cannot test you before the order shows, so please schedule your appointment several days after we send the order. They offer this test by appointment only at several valley locations (not all of their locations). To find testing locations and schedule an appointment, visit sonoraquest.com or call 1-855-367-2778. Sonora Quest charges $65 for the test, which we anticipate will be covered by most insurance plans. You may want to verify with your insurer. If you currently have symptoms that may be due to a COVID-19 infection, you will need a nasal swab test done in our office or by drive-up testing at our office. In order to protect the sick and the well, we continue to take many precautions including a separate sick entrance and waiting room. Please contact us for an appointment.
